If the international faculty is already in Turkey, then they are expected to visit the prospective Department/Faculty/Institute Secretariat for concluding a work contract.
Employment may commence only after signing the contract, which will be valid for a one-year period.
The international faculty must abide by all the rules and regulations specified in the Law of the Turkish Higher Education No. 2547 and the Personnel Law of the Turkish Higher Education No. 2914 and is subject to all other relevant legislation in effect. Hence, international academic staff member is obligated to carry out his duties in accordance with employment contract and existing laws. General legislation will be consulted for matters that are not covered by the contract.
Upon the request of the international faculty’s department, the contract can be renewed if the period of assignment has been extended.
