Social Security and Health Insurance

Following the completion of the work contract, the international faculty may collect their Employment Authorization Card which also serves as a Foreigner ID Card from the Directorate of Personal Affairs/Academic Division which is located on the 3rd floor of the Rectorate Building.

Once the employment contract is signed, the department/faculty/institute will automatically initiate and complete the international faculty’s registration to the Republic of Turkey Social Security Institution (Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu-SGK) online system.

All the procedures related to employment insurance, social benefits, health insurance, income tax and pension deductions are administered by SGK.It is possible to access free or low-cost healthcare provided by SGK using Foreigner ID.
