Social Security and Health Insurance

ITU does not issue health insurance nor does it have a requirement that visiting scholars have their own health insurance coverage. As visiting scholars without contract are legally not employed in Turkey, they won’t be eligible for insurance from the Republic of Turkiye Social Security Institution. Hence, it is highly recommended to buy a health insurance covering the visiting dates. Otherwise, they will have to pay cash for health services.
