The “II. International Ottoman Traces Symposium”, which is organized by Trakya University Ottoman Civilization Studies Application and Research Center (OSMER), will be held online on December 17-18, 2021 with the theme "Balkans".

Trakya University is honored to invite you to the “II. International Ottoman Traces Symposium” in order to unearth the traces of the Ottoman Empire in the Balkan geography which has hosted the Ottoman civilization, and has preserved its importance throughout history due to its geopolitical and geostrategic location. Via this symposium these traces come from past to today and will be conveyed from today to future. By means of this symposium these traces will be transferred from past to today and will be conveyed from today to future.

“The Participation Certificates” of the Symposium, which will be held online due to Covid-19 Pandemic conditions, will be sent via e-mail to the participants in PDF format. The Symposium meets the criteria for associate professorship, appointment and promotion, and a multinational scientific board has been established.

Full texts of the papers to be selected by evaluating by double-blind referee system, digital edition which will be prepared as an e-book with ISBN after the Symposium will be sent to the participants by e-mail.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Selected papers after the symposium will be published as articles in the special issue of the "Journal of Ottoman Civilization Studies" (OSMED), a refereed and international journal that contributes to studies on Ottoman History and Ottoman Civilization and includes original research in its field. (In the publication of the articles, it is essential to obtain the referee opinion to be appointed by the editorial board of the relevant journal.
