Courses Taken at ITU Through The ATHENS Program

Istanbul Technical University, hosted 37 students from Europe between 18-22 November, within the scope of the Advance Technology Higher Education Network/ SOCRATES (ATHENS) program, which it has been running successfully since 2007. The students took courses from the Faculty of Computer and Informatics and Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Istanbul Technical University, hosted 37 students from Europe between 18-22 November, within the scope of the Advance Technology Higher Education Network/ SOCRATES (ATHENS) program, which it has been running successfully since 2007.  The students took courses from the Faculty of Computer and Informatics and Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Prof. Sema Oktuğ opened a course in “Digital Solutions for Smart Cities” and Prof. Serhat Şeker opened a course in “Mathematical Methods for Signal Processing”, therefore participating in the development of the program.  In addition to the mentioned courses during the November term of ATHENS, students also received applied training and under the supervision of Prof. Oktuğ they carried out a technical visit to the Istanbul Disaster and Coordination Center.

Prof. Cafer Özkul, Advisor to Rector and Coordinator for the International Strategies Office, gave a presentation of another project of our university, the EELISA program, to students from the partner universities of this program.  Following the presentation, ITU and the ATHENS students were brought together and an EELISA project group was formed.
