Istanbul Technical University (ITU) came together with representatives of the global higher education community as part of NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo, one of the world’s leading international education events. Held under the theme “Global by Design,” the event took place in Orlando, Florida, from 26–29 May 2026.

ITU participated in the event under the “Study in Türkiye” Pavilion organized by the Turkish National Agency. In addition to 89 universities from Türkiye, the pavilion also hosted representatives from the Education Attaché of the Ministry of National Education, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), and the Turkish National Agency.

Throughout the conference, ITU representatives held bilateral meetings with approximately 50 higher education institutions from different countries. The meetings focused on student and staff mobility, academic partnerships,

Erasmus+, and cooperation opportunities in the field of internationalization.
In addition to the other ITU participants, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İpek Akın Karadayı also attended the event to conduct high-level meetings.
